How very very SAD! You can really HEAR the terrible, awful damage she's done to her lungs by years of extremely heavy smoking. (In the unlikely event there was another, secret, cause of her respiratory problems -- I apologise!) As a physician I was worried about her health from when she first became well known. I was sure her life would be cut short WAY too soon, but really really hoped I was wrong. What a tragedy she died so young, but what a truly wonderful, spectacular, inspirational legacy she has left!

Actually the design is very weak. RIBA again not understanding decent architecture. Look at the surrounding buildings, this has zero relation in scale, rhythm, material or anything. Facade is more appropriate in China or America

I visited here in 2018 and it’s a very interesting and accessible boat museum in large, practical sheds. The commentary here is the reason I always classed architects as, ‘All bow tie, felt pens and head in the clouds.’ When I was an architectural technician, most of the architects talked in this way. The best architects that I worked with were ones who had initially been technicians then gone to university to become architects who knew how to design and build.

it would be very interesting to see how FCB and the College view the school now, given all the changes that have been put in place, the take over from Reach South Trust and generally the complete loss of the ethos that they originally imagined for the education of the children from reception through to 6th form.
